THE JOURNEY: From Gracious Givers to Love Impact Charity Organization

Every meaningful journey begins with a single act of compassion. For Love Impact Charity Organization (LICO), that journey began in July 2021, when a group of passionate young people came together with one shared vision—to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families through acts of love and kindness. Originally established under the name Gracious Givers, the initiative focused on organizing charity visits to children's homes and supporting those in need through volunteerism and community generosity. Although resources were limited, the passion to serve was limitless. Every donation, every volunteer, and every smile shared during those early outreaches strengthened the belief that even the smallest act of kindness could create lasting change. Our first annual charity visit was held at Talitha Kum Children's Home, marking the beginning of what would become a tradition of compassion, service, and community engagement. Between 2021 and 2024, we continued returning to Talitha Kum, not only for our annual charity visits but also to support selected projects throughout the year. These partnerships allowed us to build meaningful relationships and contribute beyond a single day of outreach. As our membership continued to grow, so did our vision. We recognized that the challenges facing vulnerable communities extended beyond occasional charity events. Families needed long-term support, children required educational encouragement, young people needed mentorship, and communities deserved sustainable partnerships that could bring lasting transformation. This realization inspired the transition from Gracious Givers to Love Impact Charity Organization (LICO). The new name reflected our broader commitment to humanitarian action, education, community development, environmental conservation, volunteerism, and social empowerment. Over the years, the organization has experienced remarkable growth. What began as a small volunteer initiative has evolved into a thriving community movement with over 200 registered members, including more than 130 active volunteers who dedicate their time, skills, and resources to serving communities across Kenya. Our annual outreach programmes have also grown significantly. The journey of our annual programme budgets reflects the increasing confidence of our members, supporters, and partners: 2021 – KES 10,000 2022 – KES 35,000 2023 – KES 80,000 2024 – KES 81,000 2025 – KES 130,000 Each milestone represents more than financial growth—it reflects stronger partnerships, increased volunteer participation, and a deeper commitment to creating meaningful impact. In 2024, LICO introduced another meaningful tradition by recognizing members who had graduated from universities, colleges, and other institutions during the year. These graduates were invited to share their personal journeys with the children during our annual outreach, encouraging them to embrace education, remain resilient, and pursue their dreams despite life's challenges. This initiative reaffirmed our belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives. The year 2025 marked a historic milestone as Love Impact Charity Organization celebrated five years of service. To commemorate this achievement, the annual charity visit was held at Hope, Patience & Joy Rescue Centre, symbolizing both our growth and our commitment to extending our reach to new communities. As we entered 2026, we introduced a new chapter in our story through Touch a Heart Edition—our flagship annual outreach programme. More than just a charity visit, Touch a Heart represents our vision of inspiring hope, restoring dignity, empowering communities, and building lasting relationships through acts of love and service. Today, Love Impact Charity Organization continues to grow with one unwavering purpose: to touch lives through acts of love. Guided by our motto, "Touching Hearts, Spreading Love, Creating Smiles. Giving Cheerfully," we remain committed to building stronger communities, empowering volunteers, and creating opportunities for vulnerable children and families to thrive. Our journey is far from over. With every volunteer who joins us, every partner who believes in our mission, and every life we touch, we take another step toward a future where compassion inspires action, communities stand together, and hope reaches those who need it most. Together, we are touching hearts, spreading love, creating smiles, and giving cheerfully.
